  • This day starts with a very special city tour: The old town of Havana and its most beautiful places from a bird’s-eye view.

  • Begin with a drive to the other side of the bay for a morning panoramic view over Havana's old town. At the famous statue of Jesus Christ, you can take the first of many beautiful pictures of the day.

  • Cross the bay on the ferry Lancha de Regla which is mostly used by locals. Here starts the sightseeing walk through the historical city centre: visit to the Cámara Oscura at Plaza Vieja for a 360-degree view of the old town and the Maqueta of Havana. This surprisingly detailed mock-up represents the city at a scale of 1:500 and reflects the daily life quite authentically with its sound and light effects.

  • End the walk at the nice cathedral square. After lunch, enjoy a cocktail in one of the hippest roof top bars of the city. In the afternoon, you will get to feel the rhythm of Havana during a typical dance lesson. Professional dancers will teach you the Salsa Cubana. At night, take the chance to prove what you have learned in a local Salsa club - depending on the weather either under the stars in the “1830” at the Malecón or classy in the legendary Hotel Florida.

  • Today you will get a deep insight into the lives of Cubans who have dedicated themselves to the art of restoring cars. You will visit several privately owned car workshops in which Cubans restore vintage cars and other vehicles including VW Beetle, Chevrolet and many more. A camera, is an accessory that should not be forgotten on this tour through the world´s largest open-air museum of vintage cars. End this adventurous experience with a panoramic tour with a vintage Chevrolet passing through Havana´s most famous districts. Enjoy lunch in a private restaurant. Afternoon at leisure.

  • From the hustle and bustle of Havana into the nature of Viñales. Drive along the tobacco route to Pinar del Río, the greenest of all Cuban provinces with the best tobacco soil of the world. Visit Patio Pelegrín, an aid programme of the artist Mario Pelegrín especially for kids and teenagers. With the access to artistic creation not only the development of their own creativity is stimulated but also, they are offered senseful recreational activities. Together with Mario Pelegrín and his team the lunch for today will be prepared.

  • In the afternoon, panoramic tour through Viñales Valley with its imposing limestone rocks (Mogotes) to Viñales village. Visit a Casa de Veguero, the house of a tobacco farmer with its drying hut for tobacco leaves. Enjoy the rest of the afternoon on your own and explore the village of Viñales on your own. In the evening you will learn how to make the famous Cuban cocktails during an exclusive course. Dinner at the Casa Particular.

  • In the morning you will visit the Cave of Santo Tomás, one of the biggest cave systems in the Caribbean. Equipped with torchs you will see rare formations of stalagmites and stalactites on this two-hour tour. Afterwards, lunch at the Paladar of Alberto Vitamina - a very special private restaurant. The sympathic owner Alberto got his name by selling fruits. He likes to join his guests and have a chat about the world and his wife. Afternoon at leisure. Right from the finca of Alberto you can optionally hire bikes or horses to explore the unique nature of the Viñales Valley with its high diversity of flora and fauna.

  • Important: Sure footing and lightweight hiking boots are required.

  • After a long drive, you will finally see the Caribbean Sea! Stop at the Cueva de los Peces in the Bay of Pigs. This environment was built through karst lagoons and a wide system of caves flooded with water. A variety of species of the local flora and fauna can be found here. Options to snorkel or bathe in this cenote.

  • You can spend the rest of the day on your own at the beach of Playa Larga and enjoy the nice coral reef when snorkeling. Dinner at the Casa Particular.

  • Drive to Cienfuegos, a charming coastal city characterized by French colonial architecture.

  • Stroll through the city centre, see the main square Parque Martí with the nostalgic theatre Tomás Terry. Visit to the Casa de la Cultura Benjamin Duarte. This cultural centre in a palatial building organises out-of-school activities such as dancing and making music, for local pupils.

  • After this interesting visit, have a cocktail on the roof terrace of the Moorish “Palacio de Valle” on the peninsula Punta Gorda.

  • Afterwards, drive along the coastal road to Trinidad - UNESCO World heritage site with unique colonial architecture. Sightseeing walk through the romantic cobbled roads, passing the main square surrounded by the splendid mansions of the former sugar barons and visit to the Casa del Alfarero, a pottery workshop. In continuation, be part of a guided tour through one of the numerous museums in Trinidad. Dinner at the Casa Particular.

  • In the morning you visit an authentic Cuban finca. Here you get insights into the cultivation of fruits and vegetables, into cattle-breeding as well as into life of the countryside. Possibility to take a swim.

  • Then drive through the Sugar Mill Valley to the hacienda Iznaga, home of the former sugar barons with its legendary slave tower. Typical Cuban lunch on a finca. Possibility for a thrill on the optional ziplining adventure: Enjoy breathtaking views of the Sugar Mill Valley while gliding down five ziplines.

  • In the evening you have the opportunity (optional) to experience the smooth nightlife with live music and dance, e.g. in the “Casa de la Música” or the “Casa de la Trova”.

  • Drive from Trinidad to Santa Clara, the capital of the province. This town is inseparably linked with Che´s history. With the famous battle of Santa Clara, Che marked the final victory over Batista’s regime and became the hero of the revolution. It is here where he found his last rest. Visit to the mausoleum and tren blindado, a relic from the revolutionary war.

  • In the afternoon head to the hotel/airport in Havana.

  • Important: The mausoleum of Che Guevara is closed on Mondays and can be closed on other days without prior notice. Caribbean Tours assumes no guarantee for the opening times. However, the monumental memorial itself with an imposing statue of Che alone is worth a visit.
